| Replacement of the wood shingle roof on the 1678 Joshua Hempstead House, one of New England’s oldest
and best documented dwellings. Alaskan yellow cedar shingles were used along with lead flashing and stainless steel fasteners. The 1759 Nathanial Hempstead House on the same property underwent exterior restoration of existing cedar trim, gutters and rainwater leaders. New lead liners were installed in the restored wood gutters. |
