Restoration of a prominent Hartford icon: the
historic onion dome at the Colt Firearms factory.
Project involved locating and documenting
a surviving original column so that an accurate
replication of 16 original columns could be
made. Dome was completely cleaned of paint and
repainted. Stars were numbered, removed, gold
leafed and replaced. A replica of the original
rampant colt was adapted for installation and
mounted on the restored gold leafed sphere.
